Day 1: Budongo Forest Reserve

Depart Kampala at 7 am and arrive near 11 am Budongo Eco Lodge where you check in at either in the self-contained room for the day. This is a most delightful area of Murchison Falls National Park. Budongo Forest is an oasis of tranquility where one can truly feel at one with nature. This is the oldest Mahogany Tree Forest in East Africa - and steps have been taken to preserve this most wonderful forest with its tall and majestic trees. The Forest has been under constant threat by loggers out to make a few shillings instead of looking to the future and preserving this magnificent forest for future generations. Budongo Forest will seem like an oasis to you, the quiet being broken by the sounds of birds, primates nearby - very different from a forest in North America or Europe. Certainly a place to come and spend a couple of days in peace with creation.

Day 2:  Breakfast in Budongo Forest - Chimpanzee Tracking a three to four hour small group experience visiting some of the habituated Chimpanzees of Budongo Forest- spending an hour with them and observing them.  Each day, chimpanzees like gorillas move to another location for the night building new nests for that day. Enjoy your time with the chimpanzees.

Depart to Kampala and return in the late afternoon.

Day 1: Drive to Karamoja

After an early breakfast from your home, our driver guide will pick from agreed points In Kampala and then drive you towards Jinja through Mabira forest which is a place known for eco-tourism and bio-diversity in Uganda. We shall continue to the Owen falls dam and the source of the Nile, where the longest river starts (River Nile). We will have a short view of mountain Elgon and if time allows, and then set off for the north west of Mbale town to Moroto through Soroti on a good tarmac road, this will take us 3-4 hours to reach Soroti;

We shall have an optional short tour of the town and study the manner of life of the Itesots, Soroti Rock, a volcanic plug resembling the Tororo Rock, The town's architecture which reflects its multi-cultural history. Central Soroti has a market place where the creativity of the local community at refashioning scrap metal to make cooking pots and other house hold items from the remains of cars and metal drum is incredible. We shall then drive to Moroto where we shall spend the night at Leslona Hotel.

Day 2: Explore the Karamajong Culture

After a morning breakfast at the hotel,  we shall go to the communities to learn more about the karamojong culture that is the dressing, marriage, their nomadic way of life, their social lifestyle and generally their way of life, this could take us half the day seeing as some of the karamajongs who are still hostile. We shall visit the nearby Kraals and the Kobebe Dam where the Turkana from Kenya settled.

Later after lunch, we shall visit the Manyatta communities and learn more about their way of life enjoy the beautiful scenery of the place and retire back to our hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Mountain Climbing

After an early morning breakfast at our hotel, we shall go for mountain climbing which will take us about 3hours or half day depending on the pace we move. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, green vegetation and the view of nearby countries. Retire to your hotel for lunch.
Later after lunch, we can do an optional visit to the Karamajong museum (at an Extra cost 5000= per person).This will introduce you to the karamajong culture, their ancestral beliefs and the art and craft garalley. Retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala

Wake up at leisure, have breakfast and start your journey back to Kampala, stop
In Mbale town for lunch and then continue your journey back to Kampala.

The trip in Entebbe exposes you to the colonial capital of Uganda, which is the first town that welcomes each and every safari tourist / Visitors who come to the Uganda. This town is so quiet and cooled with breezes from Lake Victoria, the beach palm trees and the botanical gardens filled with different species of birds.


Detailed Itinerary for 1 Day Entebbe Tour


The trip will introduce you to the top tourists’ attractions of Entebbe town  among them includes: botanical gardens, (Uganda wildlife education center) uwec, reptile village to mention but a few as well as activities like sunset cruises, fishing on Lake Victoria etc.
Early in the morning after your breakfast, you will be picked by our guide from the hotel where you will start the drive to Kigungu which also happens to be the first landing spot for the church missionary fathers to Uganda.  Proceed to Entebbe International Airport, then to the lake side Botanical Gardens of Entebbe situated on the shores of the lake victoria while at the gardens, you are likely to encounter the most beautiful tropical plants including flowers, many primates including monkeys such as Guereza Colobus and vervet monkeys, close to 25 bird species including great Blue and Ross’s turacos , Klaas’s and Diederik Cuckoos , Woodland Kingfisher , Broad-billed Roller ,Black and white casqued horn bill and splendid starling. Other specis likely to be seen includes, palmnut and Hooded Vultures,Lizard buzzard , Long-crested eagle, etc,

Then after you will be taken to the zoo where you will have a chance see different kinds of animals and birds such as includes  lions, leopards, elephants, monkeys, ostriches and many others  being  fed and also have a chance to participate in feeding them. After the great experience with the zoo you and lunch break at Winds or Lake Victoria Hotel where you will have a continental or traditional Uganda style buffet and then head to reptile village.



  At the reptile village in Entebbe,katabi you will have the luxury of seeing different snake species that includes Gaboon Viper snakes  which are very lazy and just lie on the forest floor waiting for a victim to come close, Egyptian Cobra which kills more people in Africa than any other species, and is particularly aggressive among other species.
 
Later in the day you will go for Boat cruise on Lake Victoria which is the largest fresh water lake in the whole of Africa. Lake Victoria sunset cruises where it provides an opportunity to have some good time on the lake while exploring islands and features with in these fresh water lake. Lake Victoria Sunset cruises normally start at 4 or 5 pm and late evening. For those not interested in the boat cruise will remain on the shores walking on the sand or even swimming

Day1: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Our driver guide will pick you from agreed points, either at the airport or from your hotel and then start off your trip to Lake Bunyonyi via Mbarara to Kabale South Western Uganda. This will be an interesting 6-hour drive through different types of vegetation such as tropical countryside with large swamps, Mpanga Forest, and the Equator. Make a brief stop-over at the Equator for photography and stride to the northern and southern hemisphere! Thereafter, you will drive through the flat savannah country where you are likely to observe the famous long-horned Ankole cows. We shall make a stop in Mbarara town for lunch before continuing through the impressive hilly country of Kabale, popularly known as "the Switzerland of Uganda"; arrive at Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest lakes in the world, late in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

 Day2: Explore Lake Bunyonyi (Community Tour and Boat Ride)
After a morning breakfast, visit the distinctive Batwa and Abaheesi (black smiths) societies or to the Bukora Cave. Have lunch at the resort and enjoy the afternoon on a boat ride, canoeing on the magnificent Lake Bunyonyi.
You can have an option of visiting the Orugano rain Forest which has diverse plants and animals or spend some time interacting with the Batwa (pygmies) community who inhabit parts of the forest and its surrounding areas. Birders will treat themselves with well over 300 bird species recorded. Like Otters, pied kingfishers, swallows among others.
 You can also opt for a full-day canoe trek on Lake Bunyonyi that will introduce you to the major islands and their rich history, but also to a traditional healer and a craft maker who lives on a peninsula with most complete views of the 25-kilometres long lake. There will be some little energetic hiking but worth it in a traditional dugout canoes.

Day3: Drive to Kampala
After breakfast, start your trek back to Kampala. You will have a stop in Mbarara for lunch and the equator incase you want to buy anything to take home with you then proceed with your journey to Kampala arriving late afternoon.
