Greeting: In Uganda ,a Muganda woman could not greet any person while standing up always one could kneel down to greet big people of the opposite sex and older women ,Children always could greet all people while kneeling no matter the sex .

This means that people who came together to form a bundle which is called AKAGANDA ,(single) and since they are many they were called "ABAGANDA"(BUNDLES). Buganda Kingdom is the biggest in Uganda having 20 counties and sub-counties, in each of these counties there is a leader who also has subsidiaries, the County chief reports to the King and others report to Him.The county chief is called ABAMAASAZA ,well as the counties are called Masaaza ga Buganda ,which mean (Buganda's county).

Buganda was rich and civilized before the coming of the missionaries to Uganda which made their work so easy and they used them to penetrate Uganda with their work. Buganda had a very well planed government and was headed by the King(KABAKA).On 08 -Oct -1962 Buganda was given Independence before Uganda which showed a division in Uganda .This didn't do well with the prime minister then Mr. Apollo Milton Obote ,so he started laying his strategies to over throw the King and change Uganda Governance.

Buganda,has a full cabinet headed by the King(Kabaka),the prime Minister(Katikilo/kabaka webweru) helps the king in doing all his work because the king cant reach his subject,but once in a while He appears to see his subject and get together .

Food: Buganda was known as Banana land (Matooke) of all types and was their staple food but as time goes on they have relaxed but during the 60's it was a must to have a banana plantation order from the King to His subject.
When one was interested in eating Matooke there are processes one has to go through which make it the testiest food in Uganda at large. One gets a cluster and makes it into pieces which is peeled and wrapped in the banana leaves stems it and it will turn into yellow when ready. Long ago food was served when everyone is sitting down expect the head of the family as shown above and it is served with well cooked Dish, eg Meat, Groundnuts,Beans,fish etc .

Drums: In Buganda drums are made in different shapes and for different functions ,which makes the beats as well to differ. The King can ask for a drum and it is only Him on His generation that was heard of ,so the shape and the beats will be different. When singing in Buganda the drum beat will depend on the occasion, Death,Naming of a newborn,Community work,Church service. These are some of the instruments that are used in making our music Entogoli,Bakisiba,Engalabi,Namunjoloba,Madinda, plus others that are from different Kingdoms.The Buganda Kingdom have a traditional dance called BAKISIMBA MUWOGOLA,which is normally danced when people are happy and gathering together .There is a drum in Buganda which is played every morning to tell the subjects that the King is well. One can find all the instruments in our craft shops all over the country and once you visit Uganda don't miss our rich music.

Dress: Women in Buganda once your married or mature one is supposed to dress up descent to hold your respect .Women have different types of clothes which signifies the type of functions his on. Buganda's tradition dress is called GOMASI, which is worn accordingly, when farming one is supposed to dress up in a Gomasi called (Ekikubilo), which only worn while going to dig and after that one is supposed to change and dress up in another type of Gomesi (KAADE) ,which is a day wear .When attending our traditional functions ,one is expected to dress traditionally.

Security: Buganda had a spear and a shield which was both used on wars and guarding their homes till late 50's when arrows where introduced to them and they are mainly from Karamoja in Northern Uganda. These where used and were also well kept to a void poison on them not to hurt others .Most of the people who where pieced with these arrows big number died and as of now they are hardly seen but few use.

Games: Buganda had a number of games which were played to relax their minds and this made them come together and work together as a community, Omweso is one of the biggest game that kept Baganda together,and football which of late has been pushed to the best level that even our national team can pick players from the Masaza Tournament.

Burial: The Kingdom of Buganda Gazeted many places in the Mentioned county to Handle Royals who died in those places and on which level. In the central here is where we find the Kasubi Tombs which was one of the oldest man made house till of late when it was burnt down .In this place all the late Kings of Buganda are laid to rest .there other Tombs in which other Royals are buried and throughout Buganda region.

Art and Craft: In Buganda it was hard to find a home without a waved Basket and Mats because food was always served in a basket and everyone while eating expect the head of the family and a male adult visitor could sit on chairs in the house. So weaving was a relaxing job done by women once done with the day's work.
